Mastering Whole Class Teaching And Learning

A special conference and networking event devoted to one of the most rewarding, and challenging, aspects of teaching for mastery – whole class teaching. We’ve brought together international experts and local super-users to help refine your school’s practice. We will also reveal exclusive new English research which shows how setting by ability is irrelevant. This is your last chance to see Ban Har in the UK this year and so is not to be missed.

“ Thank you for an inspirational day. Wonderful opportunity to develop my understanding of MNP and meet other teachers on this journey.”

Conference Highlights

Keynote Address: Teach Less Learn More

Dr Yeap Ban Har, Lead Consultant for Maths — No Problem! Primary Maths Series, Singapore

Dr Yeap Ban Har turns the traditional model of maths teaching, where the teacher demonstrates from the front, on it’s head and he will demonstrate that amazing things happen when you let children lead the learning. Ban Har is known as one of the world’s most witty and inspirational speakers on maths teaching. He previously spent ten years at the National Institute of Education in Singapore, where he was involved in several research programmes in mathematics education. He is consultant to the Maths — No Problem! Primary maths series, the only textbook approved by the DfE for match funding. Not to be missed.

“Excellent opportunity to reflect on this aspect of maths teaching – some good ideas for whole-school strategies and principles”

Exclusive UK Research: Changing Teachers’ Beliefs through the Whole-Class Approach of a Mastery Maths Programme

Professor Pete Boyd, University of Cumbria and Andy Ash, Our Lady of Pity School, Wirral

Be the first to hear the findings of a pioneering study into the use of Singapore maths in English schools and a fascinating insight into how the approach is changing teachers’ beliefs. The study debunks the widely held myth that children learn maths better when grouped by ability; this is a must-see conference exclusive.

Case Study: Whole Class Approach and Ofsted
