A one-day course on teaching early years foundation stage maths

Spark their curiosity early! This course will empower you to build a strong maths foundation for EYFS pupils aged 4–5.

Developing early mathematical understanding during the EYFS stage is essential to pupils’ long-term understanding of maths. Deepen your knowledge of structural mathematical understanding, and gain the confidence to talk maths with your pupils. Learn how to teach the fundamental concepts that are building blocks for future, more complex ideas.

Help and challenge young learners by creating problem solving and early reasoning activities. Plus, come away with long-term planning strategies, ensuring the transition to KS1 is a smooth one.

Teachers, School Leaders and Educational Professionals can now until Oct 8, for only £205 +vat or invite a colleague and book together for the price of £365 +vat. Consultants’ charge is £365 +vat per person. Seating is limited.

Course highlights

  • Organise mathematical learning into easy to remember themes.
  • Unpick mathematical content to understand its complexity and simplify its teaching.
  • Develop the confidence to ‘talk maths’ all day, every day!
  • Explore how we can develop mathematical skills and attributes in our young learners.
  • Look at how we can meld together the spontaneous and the structured in the classroom.
  • Support the transition from EYFS to Year 1.

Who should attend

This course is ideal for educators specialising in EYFS teaching, or anyone with pupils in the 4-5 age range. Maths leads for reception classes and primary headteachers will also find the course helpful.

Prior experience with Maths — No Problem! or maths mastery is not required.
