How to use Foundations to teach the EYFS statutory framework
Join us online to learn how to use Maths — No Problem! Foundations in your Reception classroom. This course walks you through each component of the Foundations programme and how it all fits together. It gives you the skills needed to use the Foundations materials and demonstrates the links to the new EYFS Framework.
Course Highlights:
- Learn how to use Foundations in your classroom, in particular, the practical implementation of materials including picture books, children’s journals and the teachers’ support materials
- Understand the new EYFS statutory framework and how to apply it
- Explore the different ways children learn in the Early Years, and how Foundations can support pupils and teachers
- Get practical suggestions for recognising children’s progress in a variety of contexts
- Find out how to help children develop an identity as a learner

Who should attend?
This course is for Reception classroom teachers and maths leads who are developing their understanding of the key principles and theories of the mastery approach in an EYFS setting.


This course will be run by Adam Gifford who worked as a primary school headteacher, where he oversaw the school’s involvement with the National Textbook Project using Maths — No Problem! materials. He is Maths Recovery trained, and was the first Primary Maths Specialist Leader in Education within the United Kingdom. He works closely with the NW1 Maths Hub, where he has held strategic leadership positions and continues his involvement with various work groups.
Adam has worked with Manchester University, numerous local authorities, and Teaching School Alliances.
