Discontinuation of the First Edition

The New Edition offers several updates and enhanced features, such as:

  • Content that is aligned with the latest government guidance
  • An increased focus on mathematical language, including a “maths language’’ feature within the Teacher Guide for every lesson
  • A new worksheet structure that is carefully varied to ensure timely progression through key mathematical ideas, support day-to-day assessment and guide students to a deeper understanding of core concepts

The Primary Series has been updated across the textbooks, workbooks and online resources for the New Edition. Therefore, First Edition materials are not compatible with the New Edition.

You can still use the First Edition printed books but they will no longer be available for purchase from the Online Shop after 2022. We recommend home schoolers transition to the New Edition in 2023.

New Edition

The Department for Education has developed new requirements since we published the First Edition of the Maths — No Problem! Primary Series in 2014. Although the latest requirements are non-statutory, they are substantive. You can learn more about the changes to the National Curriculum here: https://www.gov.uk/national-curriculum

Yes, the New Edition follows the same methodology as the First Edition. Both series are based on proven research and decades of experience, and built around core maths mastery principles.
