Our Maths — No Problem! journey
St. Luke’s began its journey with Maths — No Problem! shortly after the appointment of the current Headteacher in 2017. At that time, only 55% of children were achieving the expected standard in maths, and no member of staff felt ready to take on the role of maths leader.
To build a shared vision of everyone as a thriving mathematician, the high‑quality training and resources from Maths — No Problem! helped establish a common language around mathematics. Strengthening the confidence of both staff and pupils to learn through discussion, problem‑solving, mistakes and perseverance.
This work has resulted in a team of confident staff who are eager to share their experiences and continue improving maths provision. Children now speak fluently and enthusiastically about their love of maths, with outcomes rising to as high as 85% achieving the expected standard.
