Maths — No Problem! Community Event 2026 How do we bridge the gap between covering the curriculum and nurturing truly engaged classrooms? This October, join our community of educators for a day dedicated to transforming mathematics education. With leading experts and classroom practitioners, we’ll explore the curriculum for 2028, share proven inclusion strategies, and rediscover the joy of practical learning through pizza making.

Course Objectives

  • Expert insights: Hear from Lynne McClure OBE and our panel of specialists on the upcoming 2028 curriculum.
  • Sharing excellence: Gain inclusive strategies and insights from school leaders to ensure every pupil succeeds.
  • Networking with colleagues: An opportunity to build connections and hear from other educators, peers and experts.
  • Fun practical innovation: Take part in the ‘Maths Kitchen’ with Great British Bake Off Finalist 2023, Josh Smalley, translating abstract maths concepts into fun classroom activities.

Course Content

9:30 am: Arrival, tea coffee and networking

9:45 – 10:00 am: Welcome and opening remarks

10:00 – 10:45 am: Keynote Address from Lynne McClure OBE

10:45 – 11:30 am: Case study: Session from Suzi Telford

11:30 – 11:45 am: Coffee break

11:45am – 12:30 pm: Case study: Session from Helen Bowen

12:30 – 1:15 pm: Lunch and networking

1:15 – 2:15 pm: The ‘Maths Kitchen’ with Dr Josh Smalley - hands-on workshop with a small group of children

2:15 – 2.30 pm: Afternoon coffee

2:30 – 3:15 pm: Expert panel discussion with Lynne McClure OBE, Helen Bowen, Suzi Telford and Craig Parkinson

3:15 – 3:30 pm: Q&A session

3:30 – 3:45 pm: Goodbye

4:00 – 5:00 pm: Stay on for some drinks and an informal chat
