Course Objectives
This teacher professional development course aims to:
- A whole-school intervention strategy you can actually sustain — realistic for schools navigating tight budgets, not a quick fix
- Dedicated time to review and evaluate your own school's intervention programme, and to maximise the maths expertise you already have on staff
- A clear framework to diagnose exactly where each pupil is in their mathematical development, with ready-to-use diagnostic questions
- Confidence in what to do next, with proven remedial practices matched to each developmental stage
- Tools and representations to support children who find maths challenging, consistent with the wider Maths — No Problem! approach
Educators will leave the course with a deep understanding of progression through the knowledge and strategy stages, an insight into the diagnostic questions that can accurately identify a pupil's knowledge or strategy stage, and an understanding of the remedial plan to support rapid progression through the necessary knowledge and strategy concepts.
Who this is course intended for?
This course is intended for classroom teachers, maths leads, intervention specialists and senior leadership. It builds upon the foundational knowledge acquired in The Essentials of Teaching Maths Mastery course.
